Skincare is confusing as hell. If you are having trouble with your skin, it can be hard to figure out what the problem is and where to start. Is the problem your cleanser? Moisturizer? Are you drying out or over producing oil?
There are so many reasons your skin could be acting up. Misuse of products, not understanding your skin type, weather, diet, even exercise can affect your skin. So, if all these factors can affect your skin, how do you even know where to begin? I have a tool that can help you with that.
Even if you don’t like reading, HERE ME OUT. The book called Skin Cleanse by Adina Grigore was an awesome book to read, even after going through esthetician school. In Esthetics we are taught to treat what is in front of us, not to take a step back, but to me that’s not always the correct solution. Sometimes taking a step back is what’s needed to figure out your issues.
Skin Cleanse is an easy read and gives you the basic knowledge to achieving good skin. The focus of this book is to essentially “detox” the skin and let it work its magic. The skin truly is magical and can regulate itself. IF we let it.
This book wants you to minimize instead of encouraging you to spend all your money on “high end” products that don’t work. The author, Alina Grigore, is the owner of S.W. Basics. An affordable and clean skincare brand. The brand is geared towards “less is more,” which I am in love with. Simple and clean ingredients is what our skin recognizes, making it easier for our skin to make use of.
I have read the book through and if I wasn’t an esthetician, I’d still be able to understand what to do. I have followed these steps myself and I think it’s a smart way to figure out what could be causing your problems. This book does not focus on other factors that can cause your skin to break out like what you ate or how you exercise. There are other books on her site that focus specifically on what you should put in your body.
